The North Wales branch of the Institute of Directors (IoD) is focusing on peer-to-peer connection for the final quarter of the year, starting with an event at a renowned local distillery.
North Wales IoD chair David Roberts is inviting the region’s growing community of company leaders and directors to Penderyn Distillery to connect with fellow members at an industry-leading business.
The Llandudno-based whisky distillery will host the gathering on Monday 3 October between 5pm and 7pm and will be free of charge to IoD members.
According to David, there’s a “real thirst” for high-quality networking opportunities in North Wales and the event comes as part of the branch’s wider strategy to help business leaders collaborate in the region.
Autumn activity from the North Wales IoD will also include an introductory online training session to achieve a certificate in Company Direction as well as a Christmas lunch at Bodysgallen Hall in Llandudno to round off the year.
David, who also runs the North Wales branch of coaching service The Alternative Board, said:
“The North Wales IoD has a strong reputation for hosting events which foster connections in a relaxed environment, which we’ve seen an increased demand for post-covid.”
“We aim to maximise opportunities for the business community to collaborate, so to ensure members have the chance to speak with the majority of their peers in the room, places at Penderyn will be limited.”
During the evening, attendees will be given a tour of the distillery to see how whisky is made, and will also have the chance to taste some of the award-winning range as well as hear from a key member of Penderyn’s team.
David added:
“Having the event at a distinguished North Wales business will be a fantastic way to unite the business community and showcase the wide range of opportunities in the region.
“With a growing base of members, we aim to initiate meaningful conversations and highlight the IoD as a source of information for company owners and directors who may be seeking wider support from peers at their level.”
