Women from across Wales are preparing to be honoured at Chwarae Teg’s Womenspire 2019 having been announced as award finalists.

Now in their fourth year, the Womenspire awards, organised by Chwarae Teg – Wales’ leading gender equality charity, recognise and highlight women’s remarkable accomplishments and contributions in every aspect of life.

The ceremony will showcase the achievements of extraordinary women through a number of categories: from women working in science and engineering or thriving in sport to those making a difference in rural Wales or a rising star of the future. There are also two awards for businesses who are taking action to improve diversity and enable women to progress and prosper in the workplace.

The ceremony will be hosted by Shan Cothi on Thursday 4th July at St Fagans National Museum of History in Cardiff.

Louise David from Chwarae Teg said:

“Womenspire is an awards ceremony like no other. It truly celebrates and showcases the talents, passions and accomplishments of Welsh women and aims to inspire future generations.

“All too often the achievements of women go unnoticed and we at Chwarae Teg want to change that, and to hold these women up as role models.

“Womenspire will celebrate women from all walks of life from those in business to community activists, for their personal achievements and outstanding contributions.

“We want to applaud what these women have done and show that women can aim to be everything they want to be.”
