ICC Wales Sales Director Wins Coveted Industry Personality Award

ICC Wales has announced that its Sales Director, Danielle Bounds, has been awarded the prestigious Outstanding Contribution Award at this year’s ABPCO (The Association of British Professional Conference Organisers) Excellence Awards, recognising Danielle's achievements and dedication to shaping the future of the global events sector.

The ABPCO Excellence awards, which took place on the 12th – 13th December at The Winter Gardens Blackpool, recognise and celebrate industry best practice in association and not-for-profit conferences and events.

Danielle was awarded the Outstanding Contribution accolade for her passion, drive and enthusiasm for inspiring others as well as her commitment to championing Martyn’s Law to improve public safety at event venues. As part of her groundbreaking work in raising awareness of Martyn’s Law, Danielle has led industry-wide initiatives to educate and advocate for safety measures, including chairing working groups, organising masterclasses, and developing resources to close knowledge gaps.

These efforts have resulted in widespread recognition, earning ICC Wales numerous awards such as the ABPCO Excellence Awards’ Best Legacy Award and the ICCA Best Marketing Award. Danielle was also named Personality of the Year at the 2024 M&IT Awards for this incredible work.

Speaking about her award, Danielle Bounds said:

“I am truly humbled and honoured to receive this award. It reflects the collective efforts of so many talented individuals and teams I have had the privilege to work with. Raising awareness of Martyn’s Law and fostering positive change in our industry has been a deeply personal journey, and I hope this recognition inspires others to continue striving for a safer, more collaborative future.”

Commenting on Danielle’s win, Jill Manley, Group Commercial Director of ICC Wales and The Celtic Collection said:

“Danielle’s influence extends far beyond ICC Wales, where she has promoted a culture of positivity, professionalism, and collaboration. Danielle’s passion for nurturing talent and supporting her industry peers has made her an indispensable figure within the sector.”

Danielle was also a finalist in the Guiding Star category and ICC Wales Assistant Association Sales Manager Chloe Turner was a finalist for the Rising Star award.
