Hallmark Tŷ Enfys in Pentwyn invited residents, families and community groups to join a special lead-up event for Care Home Open Week.
The nationwide campaign, which has been active for over a decade, is taking place this year between 15–21 June and is once again supported by Championing Social Care.
As part of this year's nod to the incredible work of the social care sector, Tŷ Enfys marked the week with its own alfresco celebration, bringing together residents, team and guests for an inclusive and sociable event.
Activities on the day included a ‘Dementia Adventure' Big Green Picnic, complete with BBQ and ice-cream station, flower arranging, a Punch & Judy show, and a saxophonist.

Care Home Open Week is a nationwide initiative encouraging care homes to open their doors, welcome people in and show the public the real heart of social care.
General Manager at Hallmark Ty Enfys, Sujjata Singh said:
“Care Home Open Week is a brilliant chance for us to welcome our neighbours in and celebrate everything that makes our home special. We enjoyed a joyful day of activities, laughter and community spirit, and the residents had a great time.”
Ambassador for Championing Social Care, Nye Brown, said:
“Campaigns like Care Home Open Week help show that social care is about far more than care – it's about connection, fun and belonging. We're proud to be part of it.”
