Grant Thornton Announces Five Senior Appointments in Wales and South West

Grant Thornton UK has announced five senior appointments across its Wales and South West offices as part of its strategic growth plans for 2026.

In Cardiff, Helen Jones has been appointed Director in Commercial Audit while Dilip Singh Jungi takes on the role of Director in Private Capital Tax. Nick Jones steps into the role of Partner in Corporate Finance Advisory, Adam Hughes steps into the role of Partner in Debt and Capital Advisory, and Edward Murphy joins as Partner in Private Capital Tax, all based in Bristol.

Four of the five appointments are internal promotions.

The firm said its new senior leaders will play a key role in supporting the region’s growth agenda by helping businesses access capital, navigate complex transactions and strengthen financial resilience.

Lauren Carlyle, Practice Leader for the South West and South Wales at Grant Thornton UK, said:

“These appointments reflect our ambition to accelerate growth across the South West and Wales. By strengthening our leadership team, we’re ensuring we have the expertise and experience to support clients in a rapidly evolving market.”

Nick Jones noted:

“Having spent 15 years with Grant Thornton in Bristol, I’m excited to be driving the next phase of the growth of our M&A business in the region. We are fortunate to have a truly differentiated proposition with the combination of our regional presence, deep-rooted sector expertise and full service offering. I look forward to continuing to work with our talented team to advise shareholders and businesses through transformational transactions across the South West region.”

Dilip Singh Jungi added:

“Our Private Capital Tax team is uniquely positioned to help clients navigate complex transactions and unlock opportunities for growth. Stepping into the role of Director will allow me to deliver strategic advice that enables clients to navigate complexity and unlock value across the region.”

With growth across the South West and Wales accelerating, strengthening the senior team within the region ensures Grant Thornton can meet rising demand and support the organisations driving local success.

These appointments form a core part of Grant Thornton UK’s wider strategy to deepen its leadership capability and expand its specialist expertise to meet rising demand across the region. The firm recently announced a bold ambition to recruit 160 new partners over the next two years to help facilitate its growth.

In addition, the business has significantly scaled its investment in talent and technology, including data and digital mindset training, and introduced industry-leading reward schemes such as its Employee Benefit Trust and exceptional bonus.
