Glamping Site Introduces Sauna Space

A glamping site in Troedyrhiw, Merthyr Tydfil has introduced a sauna space.

The Roost Merthyr Tydfil caters for hikers, bikers, groups and lovers of the outdoors visiting Merthyr Tydfil, BikePark Wales, the Valleys and Brecon Beacons National Park.

The new sauna space includes a barrel sauna, cold water shower and seating for relaxing between sauna sessions. Guests can book private one-hour sessions in the sauna space.

Everything within the sauna space was planned and built by The Roost team last autumn.

Kath Morgans, one of The Roost’s Directors, said:

“We love a sauna and know how good they are for you; especially after a day’s hiking or biking. Our little sauna space is a great new addition to The Roost and the guests who’ve tried it out so far have loved it. It’s a little oasis of relaxation and it looks particularly lovely and inviting at night when it’s all lit up.”

The Roost has five cabins, one campervan space and facilities including a bike wash and maintenance area, drying room and EV charging. It is a Visit Wales Quality Assured Glamping Site and was a winner at the South East Wales Tourism Awards 2024/25.

The sauna space was funded with support from Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Council and a UK Tourism Capital Grant.
