A series of free sessions will take place in Cardiff to support new and prospective food and drink manufacturers in Wales.
The Start-up Sessions are aimed at new food and drink manufacturers, people considering setting up a manufacturing business and existing food service businesses looking to move into manufacturing.
To be eligible, businesses must be based in Wales and planning to produce in Wales. Attendees must either be a new business less than 12 months old or an existing food service business looking at developing a new product for retail, wholesale or direct-to-consumer sales.
The sessions will provide information on:
- Requirements for registering a food and drink business
- Basic food safety requirements and available training
- Sourcing ingredients
- Business planning
- Competitor and market research
- Sales and marketing for new businesses
- Finance, costings and sourcing finance
- Scaling production
- Support available through the HELIX Programme, Cywain and Business Wales
Delegates will also have an opportunity at the end of the session to discuss their specific idea or product with a member of the ZERO2FIVE team and talk about potential next steps for support.
The free sessions will take place at the ZERO2FIVE Food Industry Centre at Cardiff Metropolitan University on:
- Thursday 10 September – 10am to 12pm
- Wednesday 7 October – 2pm to 4pm
- Thursday 12 November – 10am to 12pm
- Thursday 10 December – 10am to 12pm
Registration is only available to new and existing food and drink manufacturers based in Wales and is not open to related organisations, consultants or students.
