Final Call to Join the Team Driving Rhyl’s Next Decade


Our Rhyl/Ein Rhyl is making a final call for people to get involved and help influence the resort’s priorities for the next decade.

This is the last chance to apply for a role on the Board or register interest in Action Groups that will play a key role in shaping delivery.

Applications have already attracted strong interest from across the community, with a positive response from local residents, business people and grassroots organisations.

Board chair Craig Sparrow is urging anyone who wants a say in what comes next for Rhyl to act now.

“Over the past nine months we’ve seen strong momentum and a really positive response from residents, businesses and community organisations,” he said.

 

“With the deadline just days away, this is the final opportunity to come forward and help shape this work. We want the voices guiding Rhyl’s future to reflect the town and its communities.

 

“Board roles are limited, but the Action Groups are central to making this programme work. They allow people to focus on specific themes, contribute their skills and help shape delivery without taking on a full Board commitment.”

As part of the UK Government’s Pride in Place programme, Our Rhyl/Ein Rhyl Board will oversee the delivery of a £20 million, 10-year plan focused on long-term, community-led change.

A small number of new Board members are being recruited, with places open to people from a wide range of backgrounds who bring skills, experience or lived knowledge of the town.

Alongside the Board, themed Action Groups will focus on specific priorities within the programme. These groups are designed to offer practical, hands-on ways for more people to get involved and help turn ideas into action.

Sandra Sharp, Rhyl Regeneration Programme Manager, said:

“The level of interest so far shows how much pride and ambition there is for Rhyl.

 

“This programme is about partnership and shared ownership, and these last few days are a vital opportunity for people to get involved and influence what happens next.”

Board members are expected to attend four Board meetings per year, alongside occasional workshops. Action Groups will begin forming later in 2026.

Applications close at midday on Wednesday February 11. Interviews will take place in March.
