The Welsh Government has announced changes to the way farmers and businesses access rural support services.
As part of the national transition away from the Government Gateway, all users of Farming Connect services will need to move to GOV.UK One Login.
Farming businesses are urged to act now to ensure uninterrupted access to the full range of advisory services, business planning support, skills development, e‑learning, Animal Health & Welfare training, and the wide programme of resources available to help farming and forestry businesses prepare for the Sustainable Farming Scheme, along with all other Farming Connect services.
Users will be required to re‑register with Farming Connect using their new GOV.UK One Login account. To prepare, businesses should take the following steps:
- Create your GOV.UK One Login account by visiting: www.gov.uk
- Once your One Login account is set up, you will be able to re‑register with Farming Connect– You can do this via RPW online, once you have a one login account.
- You will also need your existing CON number during re‑registration. (A letter has been issued to all users listing every CON number associated with their business.)
It is essential to complete this step to ensure you can continue accessing all Farming Connect services and your Storfa Sgiliau record.
By following the process and re‑registering, all previous training history and Personal Development Plan (PDP) information will automatically transfer from old accounts to a new one.
Maintaining access to historic Storfa Sgiliau data is particularly important for anyone intending to apply for the Sustainable Farming Scheme, Farming Connect said.
For anyone requiring help or step‑by‑step guidance, the Farming Connect Service Centre is available for support. Contact the team on 03456 000 813 or visit the Farming Connect website.
