Families Move into New Energy-Efficient Homes on Anglesey

Tenants have begun moving into the newly completed estate at Stad y Bryn, Llanfaethlu on Anglesey.

The development, which consists of nine homes, has been built by Ingram Property Developments, based in Llanfaethlu.

All the new tenants are local Anglesey families, Anglesey County Council said.

The homes are timber-frame properties built to the Welsh Government’s housing standard for new houses. Each has a highly insulated design, achieving an energy efficiency rating of EPC ‘A’, which is expected to help reduce energy costs for residents.

The homes are equipped with Air Source Heat Pumps and solar PV panels, supporting the council’s efforts to lower carbon emissions and promote sustainable living.

Councillor Carwyn Jones, Portfolio Holder for Housing and Community Safety, said:

“I’m delighted to see local families settling into their new homes at Stad y Bryn. This development is a fantastic example of how we can deliver modern, energy-efficient homes that meet local needs.

“Providing quality affordable housing is one of the council’s key strategic objectives, and it’s heartening to see this vision becoming a reality for residents in Llanfaethlu. I’d like to thank everyone involved for their hard work and commitment in bringing this project to life.”

Talybolion Ward’s county councillors, councillors Kenneth Hughes, Jackie Lewis and Llio Owen, also welcomed the completion of the project in Llanfaethlu.

The new estate consists of intermediate rented properties allocated via the affordable housing register administered by Tai Teg, which supports local residents who may not necessarily qualify for social housing but are still in need affordable accommodation.

Ned Michael, Head of Housing Services, explained:

“We’re very pleased to welcome tenants to these new homes, which demonstrate our ongoing commitment to providing sustainable, affordable housing for local communities.”

“The council will continue to work closely with the Welsh Government, Housing Associations, and other key partners to help meet housing needs across Anglesey and to ensure that developments like this continue to benefit local people.”
