One of Swansea’s newest restaurants, The Bush Eatery, has been served a Swansea BID (Business Improvement District) Extra Mile Award for outstanding customer care.

The quarterly awards recognise businesses of all kinds throughout the Swansea BID area whose staff go the extra mile to keep their customers and clients happy. They are also designed to give local businesses a boost for the hard work they carry out day in, day out to help keep the City Centre vibrant and unique amid challenging conditions for UK retail.

The Bush Eatery, which has been operating in Swansea High Street for just three months, has been recognised for its welcoming atmosphere, its friendly staff and the work it is doing to enliven High Street.

Tony George, who owns the venue, said:

“I’m very pleased that The Bush Eatery has been recognised so soon in its lifespan – and I’m pleased that the team has made an impression on our customers. It is important to all of us here that every visitor has an enjoyable experience when they visit us. Along with my business partner, Julie Williamson, I have been an investor in Swansea City Centre, with a number of businesses, for around 30 years. I love the City Centre and I feel very strongly that we all have a part to play in helping it thrive and prosper.”

Amelia Rudman, from Swansea BID, said:

“We are delighted to present our Extra Mile Award to The Bush Eatery. It is such a handsome addition to Swansea High Street and it is notable that, in a very short period of time, it has established itself as a must-visit restaurant in the heart of the City Centre.

“Excellent customer service is a vital part of the success of any business and here in Swansea City Centre we see so many great examples of excellent customer care – our frequent mystery shopper activities bear this out. It is important that we all go the extra mile to support our City Centre businesses and to let them know when they are doing a great job. So we would encourage anyone who has enjoyed a great customer care experience, to let them know, and to let Swansea BID know by emailing: [email protected] so they can be considered for an Extra Mile Award.”

The winning businesses will receive a winner’s rosette, window sticker and website artwork so they can shout about their great customer service, and they will be profiled on the Swansea BID’s website. https://www.swanseabid.co.uk/news/

Previous winners of the Extra Mile Award have been: The Gamers’ Emporium, Chic & Elegant, Valley Mill and Juniper Place.
