Expansion Creates Senior and Graduate Planning Jobs in Wales and North West

SionedandRhys

New jobs are being created as Cadnant Planning accelerates growth, announcing senior and graduate recruitment following a surge in major development projects across Wales and the North West.

The consultancy is seeking an Associate Director to build on momentum in Chester, alongside a Planner and/or Senior Planner based out of its Conwy headquarters, as workloads continue to rise.

The Associate Director appointment has been created to strengthen the company’s footprint across Chester, Wrexham and the wider region, with the business targeting an experienced planning professional who brings an established network and a proven track record.

Managing Director Sioned Edwards said their continued expansion reflects a very busy start to the year and a strong pipeline of high-profile work.

“We’re seeing significant organic growth and some very substantial projects coming forward,” she said.

“We’re involved in large housing schemes, renewable energy developments, major infrastructure proposals and complex mixed-use projects. It has been a fantastic start to the year, and we need people who can come in and make a real difference.

“For Chester especially, we’re looking for someone ready for a new challenge – someone who can build on our existing foundations, increase our regional presence and help drive the next phase of growth.

“It’s a great opportunity for an experienced planner in the private sector who wants greater responsibility and real influence over regional development.”

Alongside senior recruitment, Cadnant Planning continues to invest heavily in developing future talent through its annual graduate recruitment scheme.

The firm works closely with Aberystwyth University and Cardiff University, supporting students and graduates at the start of their careers and guiding them towards chartership with the Royal Town Planning Institute.

“There are opportunities here at every level,” said Sioned.

“From graduates just starting out, to senior professionals looking for their next move, we’re committed to building a team that combines experience with fresh thinking.”

She added:

“Planning is a hugely rewarding career, you’re shaping our towns, cities and communities, and no two days are ever the same.”

Cadnant’s project portfolio spans housing, renewable energy, leisure, civil engineering, care, and strategic infrastructure.

Recent growth has been driven by involvement in larger-scale schemes, including renewable energy developments and major housing projects, as well as complex planning work supporting town centres, education facilities and local economies.

Led by Sioned – alongside founder Rhys Davies – the award-winning agency works with developers, landowners, housing associations, education providers and infrastructure partners across the country.

The bilingual team is also keen to hear from professionals in related industries with transferable skills aligned to planning, construction and the built environment.

“The right people are out there, and now is the time to join us,” added Rhys.

“We’re delivering major projects, investing in people and building something long-term. There’s a real opportunity here to be part of a growing business that’s helping shape the future of our region.”
