Adventure travel company EverTrek is celebrating its 10th anniversary, marking a decade of helping thousands of people take on some of the world's most iconic adventures.
Founded in 2016 by Cardiff-based adventurer Andy Moore, EverTrek was borne following a life-changing trip to Nepal.
Having finished a role at Lloyds Bank and taken some time between jobs, Andy travelled to Nepal to complete the Everest Base Camp trek. Already an experienced outdoor enthusiast, having explored mountains across Australia, New Zealand, Europe, Thailand and more, he had long been fascinated by Nepal and Everest.

The idea for EverTrek, which has its HQ in Caerphilly, came after meeting a local tour guide and realising how valuable it would be to help people prepare for adventures that could initially seem out of reach.
From what to pack and how to train to managing costs, fitness and safety concerns, Andy recognised that many people needed the right support and reassurance to take the first step.
EverTrek's first customer was Andy's former manager, Dave Carpenter, who joined him on an Everest Base Camp adventure in September 2016. The pair began planning the trip over a meeting at Bill's Restaurant, writing a list of everything Dave would need on the back of a receipt.
Dave later had the receipt framed and gave it to Andy as a Christmas present, where it remains a reminder of the company's founding purpose – helping customers turn ambitious travel dreams into reality.
In 2018, Dave joined the business as an employee, taking responsibility for operations while Andy focused on marketing, sales and growth.
For the first few years, Andy funded the business himself while working as a finance analyst contractor for Barclays, with encouragement from his partner Jen Hall, who became COO of EverTrek in 2019.
Then, during and after the Covid-19 pandemic, the company experienced significant growth and further investment supported its next stage of development. Since 2024, the business has seen a 30% plus year-on-year growth.
CEO Rhys David was brought in at the end of 2024 to bring additional expertise in finance, investment and managing larger-scale growth, allowing Andy to continue focusing on the customer experience and the adventures themselves.
In 10 years, EverTrek has welcomed nearly 6,000 customers – or ‘EverTrekers' – and taking people to destinations including Everest Base Camp, Kilimanjaro and Machu Picchu.
EverTrek's founder Andy said:
“I am massively proud that EverTrek is celebrating its 10th anniversary. People are still going to Everest, Kili and Machu Picchu, and more, and we're still helping our customers achieve these things.
“That's the reason I set it up – to help people realise they can do these things. You don't have to be an elite mountaineer or a superhero, and you don't have to be super, super fit. Anyone can do it with the right preparation and help, and that's where we come into it.”
Andy added:
“Our ‘EverTrekkers' includes customers such as Diane, who has now completed nine trips with the company. Diane has said her whole retirement fund has been built around EverTrek trips, so she's a legend.”
Dave Carpenter, co-founder and EverTrek's first customer, said:
“I honestly can't believe EverTrek is 10 years old. It feels like only yesterday we were planning my first trip and writing that kit list on the back of a restaurant receipt.
“I'm incredibly proud of what Andy and the team have built and I'm happy to have been the very first customer. I'm still proud to be part of the brand today, whether that's through live streams, webinars or meeting EverTrekers at events.”
Rhys David, CEO of EverTrek, said:
“It's fantastic to see EverTrek celebrating 10 years. The business has built an incredible community and a strong reputation for helping people achieve adventures they may once have thought were impossible.
“I'm incredibly excited about what the future holds. We have strong foundations, an ambitious team and a growing community of EverTrekers, and we're looking forward to building on the success of the past decade.”
