All local residents and interested parties are warmly invited to attend community meetings convened in Rhondda Cynon Taf in late January to discuss the potential community acquisition of land in Penywaun and Treorchy.
This is a chance to restore Welsh land to the community and shape a nature-positive local landscape and economy for generations to come.
The sites comprise a mixture of habitats, including pasture and woodland, presenting unique opportunities for environmental conservation and community development, such as habitat creation, tree planting, food production and renewable energy projects.
These meetings, hosted by social enterprise Woodland Savers, will provide an opportunity for the communities of Penywaun, Hirwaun, Treherbert, and Treorchy to come together to explore potential plans for the land, and ways to get involved in the project.
Discussions will focus on how community ownership and management of this land can benefit nature restoration, food production, local skills, livelihoods, wellbeing and enjoyment.
