Wales’ leading gender equality charity, Chwarae Teg, is calling for nominations for its Womenspire awards.
The annual awards ceremony, which will take place at the Wales Millennium Centre on 5 June, celebrates the talents, passion and achievements of women across Wales.
Categories across the board are still open for nominations but the charity is particularly interested in hearing from inspirational women in the sport and rural categories.
The building category is also seeking nominations, and is open to women working across the STEM industries including science, construction, technology and engineering.
The Charity is also calling for companies to show their commitment to gender equality by sponsoring a category. This opportunity will enable businesses to reach the most exciting, pioneering and enterprising women and employers working in Wales today.
Categories still available for sponsorship include leadership, sport, community, rural and building Wales.
The categories individual women are invited to enter are:
- Rising Star
- Community Activist
- Rural Wales
- Building Wales
There will also be two categories for businesses:
- Diversity Champion
- FairPlay Employer
Louise Button from Chwarae Teg said:
“Womenspire 2018 will celebrate inspirational women and businesses from across Wales.
“If there is a woman who is a true inspiration to you; nominate them now! They will need to have made a real difference for themselves and others within one of our categories which include business, sport, community, rural Wales or more.
“We also have awards for businesses who are going above and beyond to harness the power of a gender diverse workforce too.
“The closing date for nominations is Friday 9th March 2018 for all categories, and the form is easy to complete!”
