Leading children’s charity and voluntary adoption agency, Adoption Matters, has rolled out IE Hub’s free budgeting tool across its service to assess the finances of prospective adopters.
Following a successful pilot, the charity, which supports those looking to adopt in the north of England, Staffordshire, Shropshire and parts of north Wales, will now signpost prospective adopters to IE Hub so a full assessment of their financial suitability can be carried out quickly and easily.
IE Hub’s digital platform allows people to easily create and share their budgets through its income and expenditure tool, reducing anxiety for users having to make multiple calls to different creditors and improving the financial well-being of those experiencing financial difficulties. In their work with Adoption Matters, the platform will allow users to easily input their income and expenditure, demonstrating that they have sufficient finances to support a family.
Susy White, Adoption Matters Chief Executive, commented:
“The children we place need as much stability as possible. As part of our assessment processes, we need to discuss and look at household income and outgoings with our applicants. There are no requirements on household incomes for adopters, and we have approved many families who receive benefits and manage debts just like lots of families do. What we need to ensure for the children we place, is that adopting does not place any additional stress on our applicants’ finances now and in the future. This tool will really help our teams work together with prospective adopters in looking at this.
“Thanks to this partnership with IE Hub, the process will now be fully automated which will free up time for both our social work teams and our prospective families. We are now looking into the IE Hub for our new not-for-profit fostering service, Foster Care Matters.”
Bethanie Kennedy, Partnerships Manager at IE Hub, said of the partnership:
“This collaboration means a lot to us at IE Hub. We know that our portal helps people in financial difficulties, but the fact that it will now be helping people build families and get children out of the care system is just amazing.
“Working with Adoption Matters has also been great. They understood what we are trying to do with IE Hub immediately and saw how it would benefit and streamline their own processes, which will ultimately make the adoption process go more smoothly.”
