A private sector leader with a passion for skills, education and training is wanted to represent the voice of employers on a major South West Wales partnership.
A chair is being sought for the South West Wales Regional Learning and Skills Partnership (RLSP), which works with businesses and education providers to boost skills throughout Carmarthenshire, Neath Port Talbot, Pembrokeshire and Swansea.
Candidates should have knowledge and experience of any key regional industry sectors, which include manufacturing, energy, construction, leisure and tourism, food and land management, health and social care, the creative industries, and financial and professional services.
The chair will help lead the RLSP in its on-going work to identify the aspirations of regional businesses and both current and future workforces, while ensuring learning and skills meet evolving economic and social needs.
A voluntary position, the role of chair involves a commitment of about 12 days a year.

“The RLSP, which also leads on the Skills and Talent initiative due to be part-funded by the Swansea Bay City Deal, is the heart of the regional skills landscape, helping ensure the needs of our employers and workforce are met both now and in future.
“The role of RLSP chair will give an opportunity to help drive change in coming years to help generate a better future throughout the Swansea Bay City Region for our residents, businesses and workers by representing our employers.
“Along with knowledge in any of the key regional industry sectors, candidates should also be able to demonstrate experience in partnership working along with an ability to convey complex messages to a variety of different audiences, including the Welsh Government.
“This is an exciting time for the RLSP, when skills and training are so vital to help with regional economic recovery from Covid-19.”
