TV chef and presenter Matt Tebbutt will headline this year’s Newport Food Festival.
The festival is set to return to the city centre on Saturday 11 October 2025. The popular food market, chef demonstrations, entertainment and workshops will take place as usual on and around High Street between 9am and 5pm.
This year, it will be complemented by a dedicated street food and music area in John Frost Square with live music into the evening.

Born in South Wales and educated in Newport, Matt owned and ran The Foxhunter restaurant in Nantyderry near Usk in South Wales for more than 10 years. The restaurant won a number of awards including the AA Restaurant of the Year for Wales.
Matt gained a diploma at Leiths School of Food and Wine in London before working for some of London’s most prestigious restaurants including Marco Pierre White at the Oak Room and Criterion, and Alastair Little who he cites as the greatest influence on his cuisine.
