As we move into the autumn season, the rhythm of business life in Cardiff begins to accelerate once more. For many of us, summer provides the chance to pause, reflect, and prepare for the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.

For Cardiff Business Club, that rhythm is stronger than ever as we embark on an ambitious new chapter in our journey.

For more than a century, Cardiff Business Club has been at the heart of Wales’ capital city, providing a platform for connection, debate, and learning. Established in 1912, the Club has long been a gathering place for business leaders to hear from world-class speakers, forge lasting relationships, and share ideas that shape both commerce and community.

But like the world around us, the Club has not stood still. Over the past year, we have undergone a transformation that is both exciting and necessary. Our meetings have evolved, our audiences have diversified, and our speakers have brought fresh insight and relevance. The result has been a dynamic new energy, one that reflects a younger, more varied business community, while still respecting the heritage that has carried us through more than a century of change.

This new era for the Club will be symbolised at our first lunch of the season on 16th September at the Parkgate Hotel, when we welcome Martin Fraser, Irish Ambassador to the UK, as our guest speaker. At that event, we will also launch a new partnership with Prostate Cymru and unveil a complete brand refresh that captures the spirit of a Club embracing the future.

Behind the scenes, important partnerships are ensuring our members benefit from an even more engaging experience. Business News Wales has transformed our digital and social presence, amplifying the Club’s reach and impact. Engage, our new partner for event management and administration, is ensuring our programme runs smoothly while allowing us to explore new venues across the city, from Sophia Gardens to Cardiff & Vale College.

These developments are more than cosmetic. They are part of a deliberate effort to make Cardiff Business Club the natural home for leaders who want to engage with the issues of the day, connect with peers, and play a part in shaping the future of our region.

Corporate Membership is central to that vision. By joining as a Corporate Member, businesses not only gain opportunities to host clients and colleagues at our events – with the option of up to 10 complimentary guest places each season – but also benefit from enhanced visibility through our website, social channels, and growing podcast series. More importantly, they become part of a community that values dialogue, diversity, and ambition.

The Club’s journey is about building on legacy, but looking firmly forward. We are embracing change with purpose, ensuring that Cardiff Business Club remains a relevant, influential, and welcoming platform for today’s and tomorrow’s leaders.

As Chair, I invite businesses across the city and beyond to be part of this story. The door is open – and the conversation is waiting.
