Two team members at a Caernarfon audiology business are celebrating milestone anniversaries.
Specsavers Caernarfon is marking 20 years of service from audiology director Tanya Doda, alongside 10 years for audiology practitioner Llion Jones, both of whom have retrained from optics into hear care.
Tanya Doda began her career with Specsavers as a part-time optical assistant, working weekends. She later retrained as a hearing aid dispenser, progressing into a leadership role and launching the store’s audiology service in 2024.
As audiology director, Tanya Doda works across both the Caernarfon and Porthmadog areas, helping to make hearing care more accessible to the local community.
Tanya said:
“Specsavers has been part of my life for as long as I can remember – my mum worked here when I first got a Saturday job and seeing her passion inspired me to build my own career in the business.
“When the chance came to retrain in audiology, I knew it was a way to do even more for our community. Helping people hear better and seeing the smiles on customers’ faces when their hearing devices are fitted is incredibly rewarding. I’m proud to be part of a team that combines clinical excellence with a real focus on serving the community.”
Llion Jones, who also joined the store as an optical assistant and is now an audiology practitioner, is celebrating his 10th anniversary. He is trained in wax removal, meaning he can help remove excess or stubborn wax safely.
Llion added:
“I’m so proud to be celebrating 10 years at Specsavers Caernarfon. Being able to support people in the community and make a real difference to their day-to-day lives is so rewarding.
“Gaining my wax removal qualification has been really rewarding, and I’ve now set my sights on training to become a fully qualified hearing aid dispenser.”
Both Llion Jones and Tanya Doda are Welsh speakers and regularly provide appointments in Welsh.
