This week sees the launch of Business News Pembrokeshire, a dedicated news channel for the business community in Pembrokeshire.

In partnership with Pembrokeshire Council, Business Wales, Development Bank and Bombora Wave Power, the new channel has been designed to create a one stop shop for Pembrokeshire-based business news and in doing so provide a platform for local businesses to showcase their success.

The launch of the Pembrokeshire channel marks the beginning of Business News Wales’ campaign to scale up its regional offering through the creation of targeted news channels.

Established expert columnists, monthly podcasts, and a weekly e-newsletter are just some of the features that will be available on the weekly news channel for those interested in this forward thinking business region in Wales.

Mark Powney, MD at Business News Wales, said:

“Following a variety of market research initiatives, we identified a clear need for a regional approach to business news. In Pembrokeshire there is a big opportunity for local businesses to shout about their successes. The platform will also provide a showcase for the region which we believe will assist in supporting local inward investment strategies.

“In creating a dedicated communications platform for the area, we believe that we can create a real economic uplift, particularly as we begin to investigate and publicise existing local supply chains. The support we have received from local authorities across Wales has been fantastic and we are looking forward to replicating our regional support service in other regions of the country in the coming months.”

Councillor Paul Miller, Pembrokeshire County Council Cabinet Member for Economic Development, Leisure, Culture and Tourism said:

“I took office 2 years ago knowing that the public sector and the Council in particular had to do more to support business and enterprise in Pembrokeshire. Since then I’ve made it a top priority for our administration and Pembrokeshire Council will be investing heavily in the coming years on connecting and developing the county.

Ensuring business is ‘plugged in’ both to each other and to us is what our partnership with Business News Wales is all about. The ability to showcase both our collective achievements together with the opportunities available in Pembrokeshire is a key part of driving investment and growing confidence.

The launch follows the appointment of ex first minister Carwyn Jones who has joined Business News Wales as a strategic consultant to help launch regional business news platforms across the country over the coming months.
