South Wales office furniture designer and manufacturer signs deals with BT Group, and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development
Bisley, the Newport-based office furniture designer and manufacturer, is building on recent key client signings with the announcement of two new deals spanning the telecommunications and banking sectors.
News of partnerships with BT Group and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) follow on from the recent news that Bisley is designing bespoke spaces within the Googleplex headquarters in California.
Bisley’s work with the BT Group is part of a multi-million pound 4-year framework to deliver on BT’s Better Workplace programme, a major new property infrastructure project to provide new and refurbished offices and workspaces at key hubs across the UK, including London, Birmingham Edinburgh and Bristol, for its workforce.
Bisley have been tasked with delivering staff lockers, storage and collaborative furniture, media units and other key interior elements designed to modernise BTs property estate, with a focus on employee wellbeing.
As part of the project, Bisley is starting work on BT’s new state of the art Cardiff office, which will become a hub for up to 900 employees in the city and wider region later this year. The move represents a multi-million-pound investment by BT, and secures a new, significant presence for the company in the Welsh capital. Later this year Bisley will also start work on BT’s multi-million-pound new hub at Manchester’s Four New Bailey, which is currently under construction and will provide a base for up to 2,000 employees.
The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development’s (EBRD) new Bank Street, Canary Wharf headquarters is another new Bisley project that the company has just completed. The multilateral developmental bank’s new London office was officially opened by King Charles III earlier this year.
The 26-storey skyscraper is one of the most environmentally advanced buildings in the UK and Bisley were responsible for installing their advanced LockerWall products for employee storage requirements. Bisley’s Lockerwell collection was chosen due to its ability to produce a locker solution specific to client needs, by furniture consultants, The Furniture Practice.
Bisley’s locker products were also specifically selected for their smart capabilities, which could be fully integrated into the bespoke, technologically advanced building. A hard-wired locking by Gantner was chosen as the smart lock technology.
The EBRD project is the latest in several projects that Bisley has recently completed for major global Banks. And it is the second Bank on London’s Bank Street that Bisley has worked with in the last 12 months.
Graeme Matthews, UK Sales Director at Bisley said:
“Working with such globally renowned companies at flagship UK locations showcases Bisley’s design and manufacturing capabilities at their very best.
“These organisations had exciting briefs for us to work with and we have flexed our creative and technical expertise to ensure that the results not only deliver on a practical level for our clients, but also aesthetically meet the needs of the modern workplace – from smart offices, to workspaces that put employee wellbeing at the heart of business operations.”
