An appeal against a refusal by Pembrokeshire County Council to grant planning permission for a low impact smallholding near Martletwy has been allowed by the Planning Inspectorate.
Inspector Nicola Gulley granted planning permission for a One Planet Development (OPD) to develop the smallholding at land known as Cae Calon, east of New Park, Martletwy, in accordance with the terms of application and a number of conditions.
The appeal was made by Douglas Ardern who with his partner Carrie-Anne Clark would be the main occupants of the OPD.
Ms Gulley said the main issues were the effect of the proposed development on the character and appearance of the area, and whether the development satisfied national policy requirements in respect of OPD.
“In reaching this decision, I have taken into account the ways of working set out at section 5 of the WBFGA (Well-Being of Future Generations (Wales) Act 2015 and I consider that this decision is in accordance with the sustainable development principle through its contribution towards one or more of the Welsh Ministers well-being objectives set out as required by Section 8 of the WBFGA.”
An application made by Mr Ardern for a full award of costs against Pembrokeshire County Council was dismissed.
