An engineering-solution business headquartered in the UK has rebranded, opened new offices internationally, and plans to double its £27m turnover in the next five years.
Now referred to as the IPM Group (International Power and Marine Group Limited), the collective includes the formerly known Industrial Power and Marine Limited, and Power Consulting Midlands Limited (PCML).
From its headquarters in Barry, South Wales, IPM Group is looking to expand its global footprint, having already completed over 16,000 projects worldwide. With significant growth being a driving factor, the desire was to establish the Group and become the preferred engineering partner for clients seeking to make a positive difference towards a sustainable and innovative future.
Randall Smith, Chief Executive Officer, IPM Group said:
“It’s been a very busy few years, and when we came together as a team to see where we wanted to take the business’ future, we were all in agreement that we wanted to go global, and expand our range of services and sectors.
“The first and easiest decision was to replace the word Industrial for International in our name, to truly create a worldwide Group that would be recognisable and successful. With incredible new partners in Dubai, and Japan, along with our existing team in Europe, we’ve been able to expand our client base, while still maintaining the ability for our teams to provide the local expertise and insights to shape smarter, safer, and sustainable solutions for clients.”
Richard Frearson, Group Chairman, added:
“From humble beginnings back in 2001 when PCML was formed, our team today brings together decades of collective experience across the engineering and infrastructure sectors across the world, and I’m excited for the journey ahead. We are keen to ensure we’re not only increasing our market share, but to build strategic partnerships that will have lasting, positive impacts and that we nurture the next generation of engineers.”
Looking ahead, considerable investment and new processes are being implemented across the Group’s analytical platforms, artificial intelligence, and machine learning opportunities to become front-runners with the technologies needed to elevate the services offered across the multitude of sectors. Among these will be new bespoke software for streamlined operations, new technology to improve service delivery, enhanced data-driven decision making, and brand-new Intellectual Property applications.
The group is also passionate about embedding a positive culture, with four new, distinct behaviours – Commitment, Integrity, Brevity, and Compassion being rolled out as part of a new group operating model.
Chris Lewis, Chief Operating Officer, IPM Group said:
“We are only too aware of the challenges that our clients face as the industry transitions towards net-zero and they search for sustainable operating methods. Understanding those challenges, and ensuring our teams deliver those solutions to the highest of standards, both personally and professionally is extremely important to me. While we will absolutely be best-placed to advise and consult on the best solution for the service across the energy, marine, offshore, water, and renewable markets, I also hope our reputation for being the team with the highest levels of personal attributes will be a referral trait.”
IPM Group offers a comprehensive suite of engineering and project delivery services, enabling clients to access specialist support across the full lifecycle of complex infrastructure, industrial and maritime assets. Notable projects and clients range from 30MW waste to energy facilities managed and constructed on behalf of Private Equity, to full after-sales support of marine boilers on behalf of OEMS.
