A B2B marketing and PR agency has launched Grow Getters, an educational engagement programme targeting students from primary school all the way up to university.
The initiative from Penarth-based TMPR aims to bridge the gap between education and industry by providing young people with hands-on experience, mentoring and real-life insight into the communications world. The Grow Getters programme will offer tailored workshops, taster days, and projects fitted for primary, secondary and university-level education.
To kickstart Primary Grow Getters, TMPR aims to open an art project competition to inspire creativity in young minds as well as being the agency’s way of giving back to the community.
In partnership with Working Options, TMPR will be giving insight talks at secondary schools and colleges throughout the academic year. ‘Taster days’ will be held at TMPR’s office, where pupils will gain an understanding of the industry, awareness of the roles available, as well as completing a project, starting with St Cyres School in early July.
University students can expect Grow Getters to provide a series of practical workshops available to any second-year undergraduates with an interest in communications, potentially leading to a paid placement. Covering a variety of industry topics, roles and skills, the workshops are designed to support the next generation of marketers, providing agency experience and help channel students into the working world.
“This scheme is about more than just career awareness,” said TMPR Director Louise Morgan. “It’s about empowering students across a range of ages to build confidence, creativity, and an understanding of the impact powerful communication has in business and society today.
“Grow Getters is something we’ve been wanting to initiate for a long time. Now with our more spacious new home and the agency in an exciting time of its growth, this finally feels like the perfect time and place to get the ball rolling with the programme.”
