North Wales accountancy firm Williams Denton is celebrating its 100th anniversary in 2026.
Founded in 1926 as Hugh E Edwards & Co, the firm was the first accountancy practice in Bangor. Over the past century, Williams Denton has grown steadily through a combination of organic growth and strategic acquisitions, including the 2025 integration of Hawley & Co. Today, it is one of the largest independent accountancy firms in North Wales, with offices in Bangor and Llandudno, a team of over 40 people and hundreds of clients across the region and beyond.
Colin Bell, Director at Williams Denton, said:
“Reaching our centenary is a huge milestone and a moment of real pride for the whole team. While the world around us has changed dramatically, our core values have remained the same. We’re still driven by the same ambition set out by our founder in 1926, to provide expert, down-to-earth support that clients can trust.
“Although we have a long history and strong traditional values, we are very much a modern firm. We use the latest technology, embrace digital tools and are exploring the use of AI to help us deliver even more value to our clients in the years ahead.”
As part of its anniversary celebrations, the firm will be actively supporting local initiatives, causes and communities throughout the year.
