Aberglasney has launched its spring gin ‘Gwanwyn’ produced in collaboration with the Gower Gin Company.
Crafted in small batches with botanicals foraged from Aberglasney Gardens, the gin aims to capture the essence of a Welsh spring. Fragrant cherry blossom creates delicious floral notes with magnolia flowers adding subtle flavours of ginger and cardamom; fresh lime zest and a little black pepper add a light spiciness and citrus brightness.
Helen Scutt, Aberglasney Gardens’ Director, came up with the idea to create seasonal gins using ingredients from the gardens.
Helen said:
“The feedback from our winter gin was tremendous and it sold out before the end of the season. The spring gin tastes very different as we’ve used magnolia and cherry blossom for this one which we picked in March. Our artist in residence, Andrew Douglas-Forbes, designed the label for ‘Gwanwyn’ which delicately illustrates the main ingredients. We hope you enjoy it. Visitors to our giftshop do not need to pay the admission fee into the gardens.”
Aberglasney ‘Gwanwyn’ Gin is available to purchase in the garden's giftshop in both 70cl and 20cl bottles.
