Specialist Brokerage Rolls Out Insurance Product for Cleaning Firms

Constructaquote.com, part of Moorhouse Group Ltd, is to roll out a cost-effective, high-quality, insurance product aimed at both large and small commercial cleaning firms feeling the financial pinch, the specialist brokerage has announced.

The UK’s cleaning industry, currently worth around £24 billion a year to the country’s economy and one which employs 700,000 people, according to the British Cleaning Council, looks set to continue to experience significant growth for the next few years.

However, companies at the smaller end of the market remain under pricing pressure due to a decline in industry profitability since 2013, according to MTW Research.

Lyndon Wood, CEO, Constructaquote.com, said:

“As a specialist insurance brokerage it is our job to help businesses protect their employees and their livelihoods. Our new product for contract cleaning firms could help fill a gap in the marketplace whereby companies need to protect themselves with a high-quality product at a reasonable price point,”

Constructaquote.com’s insurance for cleaning contractors is a combination of public liability (limits of indemnity available from £2 million up to £10 million) and employers’ liability (limit of indemnity of £10 million). The policy also covers third party financial loss, loss of keys, failure to secure customer premises, the misuse of customer telephones, treatment risk, the temporary removal of goods, and water-fed poles from ground level up to 15 metres for window cleaners.

Public liability insurance is an important cover for all types of cleaning companies, needed in case someone is injured or property is damaged because of the type of business being conducted. Constructaquote.com’s new insurance product aims to protect businesses against this potential cost.
