Avon TSA Aims to Strengthen Wales’ Place in Automotive Sector With Special Trade Event

By Manufacturing · 5 Nov 2026 · 2 min read

Business leaders are being invited to discover what drives the success of Ebbw Vale-based specialist manufacturer Avon TSA when it opens its doors for a networking event with the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT).

The event will take place at Avon TSA’s premises on the Blaenant Industrial Estate, Brynmawr, on Friday 13 November, bringing together SMMT members and businesses from across the automotive and wider manufacturing sectors.

Visitors will have the opportunity to see Avon TSA’s manufacturing operations first-hand and learn more about its specialist acoustic and vibration-management products and processes.

Avon TSA has established its position in the automotive industry through its expertise in noise, vibration, harshness and temperature (NVH-T) control solutions.

This expertise is supported by a long-standing relationship with 3M, with Avon TSA recognised as the UK’s only 3M Thinsulate™ Preferred Converter. 3M technical specialists will also attend the event, giving visitors the opportunity to discuss material selection and NVH-T applications alongside Avon TSA’s manufacturing team.

Avon TSA Managing Director Roger Warr said:

“We are proud to represent Wales within the international automotive industry and delighted to welcome fellow manufacturers and SMMT members to Avon TSA.

“There is a great deal of manufacturing expertise within Wales, and this event is an opportunity to bring businesses together, exchange ideas, explore the challenges facing the sector and strengthen relationships across the automotive supply chain.”

Founded in 1977 as Textile Shapes & Assemblies, the company initially supplied specialist fabric products to manufacturers. It later expanded into anti-vibration and acoustic insulation for customers including Sony and Panasonic, before developing its automotive business and supplying manufacturers including Honda and Nissan.

Since joining the Bristol-headquartered Avon Group in 2014, Avon TSA has continued to develop, drawing on the Group’s wider expertise and manufacturing capabilities.

Avon TSA General Manager Armorel Jackson added:

“Millions of specialist components manufactured by Avon TSA are now used in vehicles produced by some of the world’s leading automotive brands.

“Our relationship with 3M is an important part of our offering. The Preferred Converter status reflects our knowledge of 3M Thinsulate materials and our ability to convert them correctly and consistently.

“By working closely with customers and material manufacturers, we can support projects from material selection through to production, helping to reduce programme risk, protect production and improve NVH-T performance.”

Fellow Avon Group companies AER Stafford, AER Maerdy and P&D Manufacturing will also attend. Together, the businesses offer a broad range of manufacturing capabilities across non-metallic materials and components, including NVH-T solutions, seals and gaskets, injection mouldings, rubber mouldings and vacuum-formed products.
