Werndale Hospital Recognised for Outstanding Patient Experience

Werndale Hospital 52

Werndale Hospital in Carmarthenshire has been awarded Reputation’s 900 Award, placing it among a select group of organisations achieving exceptional levels of patient satisfaction and public trust.

The 900 Award is an elite distinction earned by fewer than 3% of all locations powered by Reputation’s platform and is reserved for organisations with a Reputation Score of 900 or above, reflecting consistently strong patient feedback, active engagement, and a robust approach to listening and responding to reviews.

This recognition comes as Werndale delivers a £10 million building works programme to expand capacity and enhance facilities, meeting growing demand for high‑quality, consultant‑led care across Wales.

The hospital provides an extensive range of specialties including orthopaedics, general surgery, ophthalmology, urology, gastroenterology, gynaecology and cosmetic surgery, supported by more than 40 experienced consultants. As part of its commitment to continuous improvement and investment in modern healthcare technology, Werndale has recently enhanced its urology service with advanced laser equipment for the treatment of bladder, kidney and ureteric stones. This enables specialists to break down stones quickly and safely, helping patients who may otherwise face long waits for treatment elsewhere in the region.

Over the past year, Werndale has also achieved several national accreditations, including World Class accreditation from Best Companies and JAG accreditation for excellence in endoscopy services. Together, these milestones reinforce the hospital’s sustained focus on quality, safety and exceptional patient care.

Andre Bothma, Executive Director at Werndale Hospital, said:

“Receiving the Reputation 900 Award is a strong endorsement of the care and professionalism our teams deliver every day. Patient experience sits at the heart of our decision‑making, shaping how we invest and develop our services. This recognition highlights the impact of that commitment.”

Jessica Price, Sales and Marketing Manager at Werndale Hospital, said:

“Our reputation is shaped by the experiences our patients share, and we take every piece of feedback seriously. We listen, we respond and we use what we learn to continually improve. We are incredibly proud to have received this recognition.”
