Glamorgan County Cricket Club has announced the signing of Jack Hope-Bell on a one-year rookie deal.
The talented 18-year-old batter, who came through Newport Cricket Club's junior section, had a breakthrough season in 2025. Over the last year Jack enjoyed winning the ECB U18 One-Day Cup with Glamorgan, getting a call-up for England U19s for their final two Youth ODIs against Bangladesh U19s, and scoring a century on debut for the Wales National County team against Dorset.
Hope-Bell began his pathway journey at Gwent Young Cricketers and within the Cricket Wales' East region. He then become a regular county age-group player, progressing through the age-groups before securing a place on Glamorgan’s Academy for 2023/24.
Jack built valuable experience over the past two seasons through his involvement with Glamorgan’s 2nd XI, including being part of the squad that reached the Second XI T20 Finals Day in 2024 to give him a taste of the professional environment.
Glamorgan Director of Cricket Mark Wallace said:
“Jack had an excellent season last year, being a key part of our U18’s team winning the ECB 50-Over Cup, getting Premier League and National Counties centuries and being rewarded with an England U19 debut.
“He’s been away playing in Melbourne this winter and we’re looking forward to him joining up with the squad on his return.”
On signing his first professional deal, Jack said:
“It’s a dream come true to sign a contract with my childhood Club. I can’t wait to get started with this opportunity over the next season.”
