A rising star of the Bro Radio Academy is set to take on the station's weekend Breakfast show.
Evie’s journey with Bro Radio began in its Youth Academy courses, where her enthusiasm and passion for radio quickly grew over the 12 weeks. On completing the course, Evie had the radio bug and was fighting to get back in the studio as soon as possible.
She has since become a key part of the Bro Radio team, supporting online activity at events such as GlastonBarry Juniors Music Festival and covering a variety of shows across the station.
Now, Evie is set to bring her style to Vale Breakfast, broadcasting every Saturday and Sunday morning from 7am to 9am.
Evie said:
“I’m very grateful for the opportunities I’ve been given at Bro Radio and the Academy. The team is phenomenal, and I’ve loved becoming part of it. I’m excited to be able to speak to the Vale of Glamorgan every weekend from 11th October.”
Bro Radio Academy lead Jamie Pritchard said:
“I’m really proud of Evie, the fact that she’s going to be the new host of Vale Breakfast at the weekend. I’ve admired her determination to do well, she’s worked so hard to get where she is today and this opportunity to take on a regular show will help further develop the skills she learnt being part of the Bro Radio Academy.”
Evie’s journey began in the Bro Radio Academy, which delivers free 12-week courses to young people aged 11 – 18 covering the world of radio, journalism and social media. Participants who complete the course are able to achieve an AGORED Cymru Qualification, in preparing to present a radio broadcast.
The Bro Radio Academy is supported by Vale Youth Service, Barry YMCA, Glamorgan Voluntary Services and Llantwit Major Town Council.
