Financial services company Admiral has announced a partnership with WWT, a leading conservation charity dedicated to protecting and restoring wetlands across the UK and globally.
In recent years, the UK has experienced significant climate challenges, including warmer summers, wetter winters, and an increase in extreme weather events. These environmental changes pose significant threats to wetland habitats and the diverse species that depend on them. Admiral said it recognised the urgent need to address these challenges and is committed to making a difference through environmental stewardship.
As the largest contributor to WWT’s Climate Resilience Fund (CRF), the £150,000 funding from Admiral will support a wide range of conservation projects across WWT’s ten UK reserves. These initiatives include habitat restoration, species monitoring, flood management, and community engagement.
Wetlands play a vital role in carbon sequestration, flood mitigation, and biodiversity, making their protection essential in the fight against climate change. The partnership reflects Admiral’s broader commitment to environmental sustainability, supporting projects that build resilient landscapes while helping protect our customers’ homes from flood risk.

Michelle Leavesley, Chief Sustainability Officer at Admiral, said:
“Our partnership with WWT is a significant milestone in our sustainability journey. By supporting the Climate Resilience Fund, we are not only helping to protect vital wetland habitats but also contributing to the broader fight against climate change. We are proud to be part of this important initiative and look forward to seeing the positive impact it will have on biodiversity, our environment, and habitats across the UK.”
Lisa Long, Senior Corporate Partnerships Manager at WWT, said:
“We are delighted to partner with Admiral and grateful for their generous contribution to our Climate Resilience Fund. This support will enable us to continue our vital work in protecting and restoring wetland habitats, ensuring they remain resilient in the face of climate change.”
