Real estate advisers Savills has made two new appointments to its development team in Cardiff.
With over a decade of experience in real estate, Ted Harding-Brown joins Savills from Avison Young as an associate director.
His background is in operational capital markets and he was involved in the early phase of build to rent when the UK market was established in London, working for Cushman & Wakefield. Ted went on to spend two years in development valuation in Vancouver, Canada, where he acted for government, before moving to Cardiff in 2022 and joining the capital markets team at Avison Young.
At the end of last year, the team also welcomed Will Hudson as a graduate surveyor. Will was recruited via the Savills UK graduate programme having graduated from Cardiff University last summer with a degree in Urban Planning and Development.
Both Ted and Will were first introduced to Savills through its national summer placement scheme, which is a paid internship offering second and final years students an introduction to the real estate sector.
Scott Caldwell, head of Savills development team in Cardiff, said:
“Our team has grown considerably in recent years and we are now nine strong, including three directors, who together advise on the most significant residential and regeneration projects across South Wales.
“I am delighted to welcome Ted and Will to the team. Ted comes armed with an excellent track record of experience across a diverse range of asset classes. His role will encompass sales, consultancy and valuation of residential development. It is also a pleasure to appoint Will to our team after his successful internship with us in 2023. As a graduate he will support across a range of disciplines, working towards becoming a chartered surveyor.”
Ted Harding-Brown said:
“I have thought a lot of Savills ever since I was introduced to the business while I was still at university and spent four weeks on placement in London. I am thrilled therefore to join the Savills Cardiff team, which also marks my return to residential development, a sector that I am passionate about.”
Will Hudson added:
“I thoroughly enjoyed my internship with Savills Cardiff, and so after graduating last year I knew I wanted to pursue a place on the firm’s graduate scheme. I am hugely excited to become a part of the team.”
Savills Cardiff is the largest property consultancy in Wales, with over 110 employees across 10 departments.
