Housing Association Recognised for Mental health Support

North Wales housing association ClwydAlyn has been named a finalist in the Mental Health and Wellbeing category of the 2024 Working Families Best Practice Awards.

The awards celebrate employers across the UK whose stand-out cultures and working practices are leading the way in flexible and employee-friendly workplaces, in their support for parents and carers.

Clare Budden, Group CEO, ClwydAlyn Housing, said:

“Being named a national finalist in the Health and Wellbeing category is testament to our dedicated Health and Wellbeing team’s efforts.

“I’m so proud to say that our dedicated Health and Wellbeing Team was also recently awarded with the Gold level wellbeing quality mark for Mental Health First Aid Wales. 145 of our staff members are already trained as Mental Health First Aiders, and we’re one of only five other organisations across Wales with this Gold Quality Mark logo.”

A mental health first aider’s role in the workplace is to act as a first point of contact for people with mental health issues, while also providing support and guidance to their colleagues.

Jane van Zyl, Chief Executive, Working Families said:

“Once again, we have been able to select from outstanding organisations who are showing the world what is possible when employers are willing to go against the grain and lead by example. Their drive to create a more equitable, inclusive society that works for everyone is clear.”
