Hay Festival has opened submissions for the 2022/23 Cymrawd Rhyngwladol Cymru Greadigol Hay Festival | Hay Festival Creative Wales International Fellowship.
Funded by Arts Council Wales, the Fellowship supports a writer in Wales in attending Festival editions around the world in Mexico, Spain, Peru and Colombia while developing a writing or research project.
Open to exceptional writers of all ages, it provides a unique opportunity for career development, while increasing Wales’ artistic profile internationally.
Recipients of the Fellowship over the years include Welsh writers, poets and journalists Mererid Hopwood, Alys Conran, Dylan Moore, Jon Gower, Tiffany Murray, Fflur Dafydd, Owen Sheers, Eurig Salisbury, Jay Griffiths and Jenny Valentine.
Applicants need to complete the online submissions form at https://www.hayfestival.com/international-hay-festival-fellowship by 12pm on 20 July. A panel comprised of Leusa Llewelyn, interim joint CEO at Llenyddiaeth Cymru | Literature Wales, Hay Festival international director Cristina Fuentes La Roche, Hay Festival development director Adrian Lambert and one of the former fellowship recipients will judge the submissions.
Hay Festival is one of the world’s leading literary charities, running Festivals to inspire, examine and entertain globally featuring Nobel Prizewinners and novelists, scientists and politicians, historians, environmentalists and musicians. Upcoming editions will take place this autumn and winter in Mexico, Spain, Peru and Colombia.
