5th March – Bala
Sustainable Woodland Management & Adding Value to Farm Woodland

Description

Join Farming Connect and industry specialists, Phil Morgan, Sustainable Forestry Management and Gareth Davies, Coed Cymru, to discover ways of improving farm woodland management, and how better management can add value to the woodland.

Silvicultural methodologies such as Planted Ancient Woodland Sites (PAWS) restoration and Continuous cover forestry (CCF) will be covered, in addition to adding value and marketing farm woodland.

The event will allow good opportunity to lay foundation to current and new farm woodland owners as to future management. Geraint Jones, Farming Connect will provide an update on the latest status of tree diseases affecting larch (Phytophthora ramorum) and ash (Fraxinius hymonescyphus) here in Wales and discuss appropriate action and response to affected trees.

A question and answer session will be held at the end of the event. Warm welcome to all.

Light refreshments will be provided therefore booking is essential.
