£1.5m Funding Opportunity for Community-Led Projects in Caerphilly

Caerphilly Pride In Place Impact Fund

Community groups across Caerphilly county borough are being encouraged to submit a bid for a major new funding programme.

The Ministry for Housing, Communities & Local Government has announced that Caerphilly Council is to be awarded a grant allocation from the Pride in Place Impact Fund.

Leader of the council Cllr Jamie Pritchard said:

“We want to encourage groups from right across the county borough to come forward with their bids to ensure the allocated funding from UK Government supports community-led improvements. It is important that this funding reaches the front line, so we look forward to hearing from you.”

A total of £1.5million (£750,000 for 2025/26 and £750,00 for 2026/27) has been allocated for use towards ‘Capital Investment Projects’

The fund is 100% capital and will be allocated to local authorities to spend in consultation with their MPs for expenditure on any of the following three key objectives:

  • Community spaces: creating, extending, improving or refurbishing existing community facilities and enabling community organisations to take control or ownership of underused but valued local assets.
  • Public spaces: enhancing the physical environment in public spaces -examples of initiatives include new or improved green spaces or public squares, improved outdoor play, sports and leisure spaces, installing street furniture, public art or wayfinding.
  • High street and town centre revitalisation: making these areas more attractive and welcoming places where people congregate and which encourage economic activity. Examples of initiatives that could be funded are shop frontage improvements, adaptations that bring premises back into use, streetscape improvements, public art, trails and wayfinding, and creating or improving the infrastructure for regular markets.

The fund is to be administered through the local authority, targeting identified transformation opportunities to identify and deliver the most benefits to residents and breathe new life into the area.

Expressions of interests (EOIs) will be collated and prioritised within the confines of the funding limitations and to align with the Pride in Place programme prospectus, via an internal Regeneration Board with consultation with local MPs and MSs built into the process.

Due diligence checks will be applied to all ‘expressions of interest’ prior to any project approvals for funding and to identify suitability.

For more information on how to bid, email business@caerphilly.gov.uk.

The closing date for Expressions of Interests is noon on 19 December 2025.
