As an independent Welsh publishing business, the team behind Business News Wales have distributed over 40,000 of the UK’s top B2B news stories since 2012. We have a proven track record of growing market reach for over 150 different UK and International businesses over the last 8 years.

The business has enjoyed a remarkable growth period and is now looking to expand its team with the addition of an Industry Editor.

Scope of Job

We are looking for an enthusiastic team player who is has a strong desire to succeed. You daily tasks will include:

  • Writing engaging and relevant articles that is clear and persuasive
  • Forward planning of features and interviews, highlighting and prioritising content gaps
  • Proofreading copy, checking for spelling and grammar
  • Establishing and maintaining strong relations with PR agencies – liaising with them directly on forward features
  • Maintaining a sound understanding of client’s products and services, their target audience and their competitor’s activities
  • Working on several campaigns at once, sometimes under pressure and often to tight deadlines
  • Promoting content via social media and have a good understanding of the platforms / tools needed to market client content
  • Building and cement client relationships
  • Assisting clients in building their content strategy
  • Keeping up to date with industry news and trends
  • Ensuring quality content is published on the Business News Wales website
  • Managing a network of freelance contributors
  • Reporting to management team a weekly client update

Essential skills

  • Excellent planning and organisation skills with the ability to multi task, work to deadlines, and prioritise workload efficiently
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Excellent administrative skills including experience in Word
  • A flexible and adaptable approach to work
  • The ability to work on your own initiative
  • Tact and discretion, for dealing with confidential information
  • A positive ‘can do’ attitude
  • Ability to think and write creatively on any issue would be a great advantage
  • Good verbal communication skills and an understanding of customers’ needs
  • Have the ability to work within with a team
  • Excellent written and spoken communication abilities
  • Demonstrate effective research skills
