A company that provides affordable IT support and services to businesses across the UK from its head office in Swansea, is using Apprenticeships as an integral part of its recruitment programme.
Established in 2003, Pisys.net is now one of the leading outsourced IT suppliers, with clients ranging from start-ups to multi-site operations in the public, private and third sectors.
How the company has been shortlisted for this year’s Apprenticeship Awards Cymru. Pisys.net will be competing to become Small Employer of the Year at the awards ceremony at the Celtic Manor Resort, Newport on November 9.
The annual awards are designed to showcase and celebrate the outstanding achievements of learners, employers, tutors and assessors who have excelled in contributing to the development of the Welsh Government’s Traineeships and Apprenticeship Programmes.
Jointly organised by the Welsh Government and the National Training Federation for Wales (NTfW), the coveted awards are supported by media partner, Media Wales. The Apprenticeship Programme is funded by the Welsh Government with support from the European Social Fund.
Thirty star employers, learners and learning providers from across Wales have been shortlisted for the Apprenticeship Awards Cymru.
Pisys.net is expanding across the UK by offering franchising opportunities to like-minded, skilled individuals. With franchises from Inverness to Cardiff, the Pisys.net team has grown to 22.
Having recruited 18 apprentices over the past decade, the company currently has three on its books who are working towards Foundation Apprenticeships and Apprenticeships in IT, Software and Telecoms Professional, which are delivered by Swansea ITeC.
As an accredited IBM Business Partner, Pisys.net has retained Microsoft Partner status due to its commitment to ongoing staff training, continuing professional development and positive testimonials from clients.
“Our preferred method of recruitment is to appoint people who are the right fit for our business and use the Apprenticeship Programme to develop their skills and knowledge,” said company director Steve Bain.
“This approach, combined with the clearly identifiable progression path that staff can ascend, allows us to recruit, train and fast-track staff to the overall benefit of the business and the individual.
“The Apprenticeship Programme is ideal for our business as we can combine our in-house training with the high-level, external training provided by Swansea ITeC to create an outcome that’s beneficial for all.”
