BRC Reinforcement, suppliers of steel reinforcement and associated products for concrete, is launching a new UK-wide recruitment campaign starting with Newport.
The steel reinforcement supplier – which operates across the UK but whose largest plant and head office are both in Newport – is seeking to expand its successful team of skilled and semi-skilled workers.
BRC’s new recruits will join a team which has had a remarkable impact on the UK’s built environment. The plant’s steel reinforcement and concrete products have been instrumental in the construction of iconic projects such as Wembley Stadium, Crossrail and the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.
BRC’s Newport plant is the largest steel reinforcement plant in the country and also the greenest, with 100% UK sourced and 98% recycled content, making the steel more sustainable than most overseas imports.
Positions on offer at BRC will include machine operation and welding, and will be an opportunity for Newport steel workers to contribute to some of the country’s largest infrastructure projects.
BRC is also the UK’s oldest fabricator of steel reinforcement, and is currently working on Google’s new ‘landscraper’ headquarters, which will be wider than the Shard is long.
James Ellis, Head of Human Resources at BRC UK, said:
“BRC is a dynamic and growing business and we are excited to welcome more workers into our community, which has a proud history and heritage.
“The positions on offer will provide long-term employment and long-term growth for the business, which will enhance the positive impact that BRC has in the local community and on the wider UK economy.”
