Independent advisory firm Turley has appointed Tom King as Associate Director in its Sustainability & ESG team, strengthening its technical expertise in building performance, energy modelling and net zero strategy.
Based in Turley's Cardiff office and working across the UK and Ireland, Tom will take a leading technical and business development role within the Sustainability & ESG team. He will help expand the firm's building physics and energy modelling services, with a particular focus on the performance of new buildings, retrofit projects and property portfolios.
His role will include helping clients navigate changes to legislation, including the Future Homes Standard and Future Buildings Standard, and developing energy strategies that balance acoustic requirements, overheating risk and energy performance.
Tom will provide CIBSE TM54 operational energy assessments to support planning requirements, the UK Net Zero Carbon Buildings Standard and BREEAM compliance, alongside the development of wider decarbonisation and net zero strategies.
Tom joins from Viro Consult, where he was a Senior Sustainability Consultant. He brings almost nine years' experience in sustainability consultancy, having previously progressed to Principal Sustainability Consultant and Team Leader at XCO2, where he led a team of seven consultants.
The appointment reflects Turley's continued investment in its Sustainability & ESG services, helping clients respond to changing policy and regulation while delivering resilient, high-performing and lower-carbon buildings and places.
