Trivallis housing association will be re-developing the former school site, transforming the area into 18, much needed, affordable new homes in Tonyrefail.

The re-development will see the site where the school was based until 2018, transformed into new homes, helping Trivallis meet the local need for affordable housing. Some of the homes will be specially adapted to ensure people have a home suited to their needs and keep people in the area close to family, where possible.

The proposed housing mix for the area includes 8 one-bedroom flats, 6 two-bedroom houses, 2 of which will be adapted homes, 3 three-bedroom houses, 1 of which will be an adapted home and 1 adapted bungalow.

Rachel Leigh, Head of Development at Trivallis said:

“We are looking forward to re-developing the former school site to build homes in an area where there is such high demand. Due to the nature and condition of the site, work will shortly commence to demolish the existing buildings to help us make room for these much-needed new homes.

“The homes will be taking an innovative approach to energy efficiency and will be built to Welsh Design Quality Requirements. There will be a number of adapted homes built as part of this re-development, ensuring that we are meeting the requirements in the area.”

This scheme will be jointly funded by Welsh Government Social Housing Grant and Trivallis.

Trivallis would like to thank our partners who have worked with us on the project: Welsh Government, RPA Group, Asbri planning Ltd, Letrucco Design and Smart Associates.
