The Wrexham Lager Beer Co Secures New Listings with Major Scottish Wholesaler

The Wrexham Lager Beer Co, the oldest lager brewery in Great Britain, has secured a new listing across its lager and export range with major Scottish wholesaler United Wholesale Grocers.

The listings will take effect from mid-October 2024, with the Wrexham Lager 440ml Export Cans and Wrexham Lager 440ml cans being distributed to some Day-Today stores in Scotland, as well as supplied to independent retailers across the country.

This marks the brand’s official entry into the off-trade sector in Scotland as part of its expansion plan.

Industry specialist James Wright who was hired as CEO for The Wrexham Lager Beer Co celebrates his one-year anniversary with the brand this month, and since his appointment, the business has seen growth across UK and international markets.

James Wright said:

“We are thrilled to secure our first wholesale partnership in Scotland. As another key market in our expansion strategy, this opportunity allows us to bring our rich brewing heritage and premium lager to a wider audience. We’re delighted The Wrexham Lager Beer Co will be available to buy from stores which have been serving communities for decades.

“The team has worked incredibly hard this year and our ambitious expansion plan is going from strength to strength. It’s a fantastic achievement to be supplying the convenience sector and distributing with United Wholesale Grocers. Waqas Badar and Amman Ramzan from the team have been very supportive of our brand and we look forward to continuing this relationship. Expanding into the off-trade sector is a key part of our growth strategy, and we’re delighted to take this significant step forward.”
