Redrow Launches Energy Efficiency Calculator to Help New Homeowners

Redrow is launching an industry-first Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) calculator tool. The calculator is designed to help potential new-build homeowners uncover energy savings and highlight the benefits of a Redrow home.

Alongside the national calculator launch, Redrow will be hosting educational events across their developments to help those looking to move to an energy efficient new home. On Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th October, prospective customers will be able to understand the energy costs that could be saved with better Energy Performance Certificate ratings, and how the Government’s sustainability and environmental targets will impact them as homeowners.

The Leamington is home of the week at Redrow’s Churchlands site in Lisvane, Cardiff. It is priced at £589,995.

The current cost-of-living crisis brings the need for this transparency into sharper focus, with brand-new research from the HBF showing that one in four buyers put energy efficiency as a key when buying a house.  In fact, the average new home saves buyers over £2,600 on household bills each year – equivalent to £173 a month.

Beverley Wookey, Sales Director for Redrow in South Wales, said:

“New research from the HBF shows that buying new presents a fantastic option for people who want to save on their energy bills, reduce the amount of carbon they are responsible for and avoid the upheaval involved in renovating. This is even more apparent as cost-of-living crisis continues to evolve.”

“Whilst many people are aware of the logistical and financial implications of moving home, homebuyers can be in the dark when it comes to the energy efficiency of their homes. As a business, we are taking responsibility to help educate and inform homeowners and future buyers through our calculator tool. We also invite prospective homebuyers to this weekend to visit us, so we can provide a helping hand on the journey.”

Newer homes come with many energy-efficient amenities built in – such as proper insulation and double-glazed windows – and are also covered by a 10-year warranty from the National House Building Council (NHBC).

Events are taking place across the UK at Redrow developments. For more information on your local developments please visit:  New Homes for Sale | New Housing Developments | Redrow
