Geldards Partner, Bethan Lloyd, has been appointed as the new head of the Wales Public Sector Team, based at the firm’s Cardiff office. She takes over from Huw Williams to lead the award-winning team.
Bethan graduated from Oxford University, qualified as a solicitor at Geldards in 1998 and has over 20 years’ legal experience. In addition to advising a wide range of public sector clients on a range of complex and critical matters, Bethan’s experience includes extensive drafting of complex legal agreements and the drafting of primary legislation.
Bethan specialises in public law, State aid, competition law and public procurement and will oversee one of Wales’ leading and integrated public sector multi-disciplinary practices, that includes specialist teams covering Real Estate, Planning, Infrastructure and Construction, Employment, Commercial Services and Dispute Resolution services.
Bethan takes over the team at an important period for Welsh legal services; in addition to the increasing divergence between the law in England and Wales, the future of how legal services will be procured is uncertain as the NPS legal framework ends.
