A Cardigan distillery has launched a blended Welsh malt whisky.
Brychan is the first of a trilogy of blended Welsh malt whiskies featuring premium single malt whiskies from Welsh distilleries, including liquid from In the Welsh Wind’s own casks.
Blended to achieve a specific flavour profile, this first expression combines liquid from red wine, port and bourbon casks.
Ellen Wakelam, In the Welsh Wind’s founder and chief executive, said:
“Bringing a blended Welsh whisky to life has been a privilege. We have been entrusted with liquid from other Welsh distilleries that we really respect and brought that together with our own single malt Welsh whisky.
“We are incredibly excited with the result and can’t wait to bring the second and third blends in this series to life over the next few months.”
