Unquiet Media has launched a toolkit to promote greater awareness, understanding, and acceptance of neurodivergence in the creative industries.

Exceptional Minds – which consists of a comprehensive guidebook and interactive website – is aimed at businesses, organisations and employers in the creative industries to help build more neuro-inclusive work spaces and practices for their teams, employees, colleagues, crew, and freelancers.

Unquiet Media’s research taps into the lived experience of 100s of neurodivergent creatives and the needs of several media businesses.

The specially designed toolkit includes:

  • A comprehensive Guide Book
  • Interactive Website
  • Animations
  • Short Films
  • Downloadable Templates
  • Research Findings
  • Social Media Communities

Rosie Higgins, Director of Unquiet Media said:

“Exceptional Minds was conceptualised based on the lived experience and expertise of our team to identify and help tear down barriers facing neurodivergent people in the creative industries.  The past three years has involved extensive research, and liaising with leading organisations and charities – all informed by our team of lived-experience, psychology, and media sector consultants.

“We have designed a comprehensive toolkit that considered the evidenced research, in terms of the needs of neurodivergent creatives, as well as employers and businesses in the sector to offer tangible guidance on creating more neuro-inclusive spaces. We hope the guidance is an accessible and useful resource for businesses to better understand, value, and support their neurodivergent teams.  We are incredibly grateful to Media Cymru and our funders for supporting us in this important work, and we are so excited to see where this goes.  Here’s to a more neuro-inclusive future for our creative sector.”

The aim of this Media Cymru project is to help foster a more inclusive and equitable creative industries for neurodivergent individuals.

Rosie is now encouraging creative businesses in Wales to make neuro-inclusion their 2025 resolution.
