The Development Bank of Wales has appointed Matthew Wilde as an Assistant Investment Executive in its Cardiff office.

Politics graduate Matthew, 25, previously spent three years in mid-corporate and commercial banking at Lloyds Bank and has joined the New Investments team, helping ambitious Welsh businesses to achieve their goals with structured, effective funding solutions, including loans, mezzanine and equity deals.

He said:

“I am delighted to join the Development Bank of Wales in a team that shares my vision. I am passionate about unlocking the potential that Wales has by working alongside ambitious businesses to support their goals.

“We are a dynamic team that works with businesses to created tailored solutions that allows them to succeed and always find ways to support and guide them through the process. Wales has so much untapped potential and is well positioned to compete with the rest of the world and the development bank helps provide sustainable and effective funding so businesses can thrive and create a quality, skilled workforce.”

The Development Bank of Wales provides learning opportunities for its employees and is supporting Matthew through his CIMA’s Professional Qualification.

There are offices around the country in Cardiff, St Asaph and Llanelli and headquarters in Wrexham there are currently 181 employees in Wales.

When he is not working, Matthew is a keen Formula One enthusiast, loves craft beer, music festivals and running as well as being a Cardiff Blues season ticket holder.
