Multi-award-winning Welsh digital transformation firm de Novo Solutions has officially announced its partnership with champion boxer Lauren Price MBE.
Lauren, who won gold at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics before turning professional in 2022, was born in Newport and raised in Ystrad Mynach – less than 20 miles away from de Novo's Langstone headquarters.
Having shown an amazing aptitude for sport from an early age, Lauren earned 52 caps representing her country on the football field and became a world kickboxing champion before embarking on her boxing career. She has made history multiple times, including becoming the first woman to win the prestigious British Lonsdale Belt, becoming Wales' first female world boxing champion, and going on to become the unified world welterweight champion.
Now an official partner of Lauren’s for the next 12 months, de Novo Solutions has quickly become one of the fastest-growing tech companies in the UK – utilising Oracle Cloud and ServiceNow applications to add value to the HR, Finance, Procurement and Payroll functions of clients including police forces, local authorities and multi-academy trusts.
In addition to its expertise in technological innovation, de Novo prides itself on supporting for young people, running a highly successful Graduate and Apprenticeship Programme, in conjunction with the University of South Wales, and a complementary Next Gen life skills scheme.
The company, which was founded in 2021 and now comprises 140 team members including the de Novo India team, has also established a Nurturing Talent Through Sport programme to extend its support to promising athletes.
Helen Crisostomo, VP Business Development at de Novo, said:
“Lauren is a phenomenal athlete, displaying courage, dedication and resilience, and reaping the rewards of her hard work through her incredible boxing record.
“She is truly one of the greatest Welsh athletes of our generation, and we are proud to be partnering with her. We’re looking forward to the wisdom she will be able to share with our teams, and we’re sure she will prove a real inspiration for them to achieve their own goals and aspire for bigger and better.”
Lauren added:
“I'm really proud to be partnering with de Novo Solutions. As a fellow Welsh success story, it's great to be working with a company that's not only achieving so much in its own industry but is also passionate about investing in people and creating opportunities for young talent.
“Throughout my career, I've always believed that success comes from hard work, resilience and having the right people around you. If I can share some of my experiences and inspire others to believe in themselves and achieve their own goals, then that's something I'm really passionate about. I'm looking forward to getting to know the team over the coming year.”
As part of the partnership, Lauren will meet the de Novo staff, particularly those within the apprenticeship programme, and a number of the team will cheer her on during her next fight in Wales.
